We (4 adults, 5 children) have chartered a sailing yacht for a sailing trip via Nautika Kufner in Croatia (including skipper). During the trip we had a plethora of problems with the boat. Both the recreational value of our initiatives has suffered, and over it is also far more serious that our safety was at risk. The trip lasted from 10.7. to 17.7. Upon departure from the port of Trogir was the boat that ran at this time under engine, suddenly no longer drive. Reason: the propeller was loose. Although the damage could be repaired, to proceed thus to a delayed but by about three hours. We could therefore set sail that day no more, but had to approach the port of Vis under motor. A day later (on Monday) we headed out to the island Lastovo. As we approached the island, we noticed that the skipper at the helm though, turned the boat but did not change the direction. As it turned out, the skipper steered the boat from that date with the bow thruster in the Bay of Lastovo. Obviously, the onboard electronics in was not in order either, because when we arrived in the bay and the bow thruster failed in service (as it turned out was a blown fuse) - we were thus completely disabled. With the help of two boats we managed to land in the port of Lastovo. One of the helpers was a naval architect who has inspected the steering gear. In his view, the crack of the tax-chain was grossly negligent, because the signs of abrasion were visible to the naked eye. The repair of the rudder was finished on Tuesday, 13.7. evening, we lost on that date by the dysfunction of the boat two days already. A day later, we had set sail and made despite reefed sail 6.5kts, it came to the next incident: I was at this time at the helm and the boat wanted somehow turn in the wind more. Because of the strong wind was during this maneuver, a corresponding pressure on the steering felt. After I had already taken the helm to some extent, I felt strong opposition, as if the rudder is already taken full. After I turned on a very loud cracking noise was heard, which clearly came from the helm. Because of past experiences, we moved on a point of safety, the sails and drove to the nearest port under motor. Our two skippers were uncertain because of the events (we also). On Friday, our last day we left so soon in early to return without further detours to our main port of Trogir. Although the return only in the course of the evening was necessary, we arrived at noon, during the greatest heat. With a functional rudder would sail another day and swim in the bay have been possible. Nautika Kufner did not respond until today, despite a complaint by the skipper. I can therefore only very impressive warning to go sailing with this boat. At least you should ask for a service check receipted dated after 17.7.2010.Charter date: 2010-07-10
